Vocal Jazz

The individualism of each musician personality and the intensity of the communication and interplay defines the essence and strength of this band.

We see ourselves as a Jazz collective, sharing intentions and visions, developing a path in the present that has strong roots in the purest jazz tradition of modern harmony and rhythms.

Each song is a story of its own, a musical world, and a canvas for storytelling.

Anna Lauvergnac -who has been a protégé of Jazz Greats Mark Murphy and Sheila
Jordan- is considered one of the most intense and fascinating vocalists of the contemporary jazz scene. She possesses the qualities of a true jazz singer: proficiency in the jazz idiom, individuality in phrasing, the ability to choose both a high standard repertoire and an excellent rhythm section, the gift and craft that enables her to communicate the emotion of a song.
Her sound is so intriguing and unique that has been compared to a variety of elements from velvet to bitter chocolate. She’s been the vocalist of the Vienna Art Orchestra for a decade and has been performing/recording with great artists such as Andy Bey, Pete Bernstein, Claus Raible, John Di Martino, Fritz Pauer, Bojan Z, Julien Lourau, Marc Buronfosse, Cameron Brown, Renato Chicco, Alegre Corrèa, Willi Resetarits, Steve Kirby, Rick Hollander, Matt Home, Howard Curtis, Paulo Cardoso, Erwin Schmidt, Christian Havel, the Till Martin Quartet (with Tizian Jost, Henning Siewert and Bastian Jutte) Julia Huelsmann trio, the Upper Austrian Jazz Orchestra, to name a few.

Pianist, composer, band leader and arranger Oliver Kent is without any doubt one of the most outstanding European pianists: musical intelligence, instinct, elegance, profound knowledge of harmony are the main ingredients that makes each of his performances an extraordinary experience in music. He played, among others, with stellar musicians like Sheila Jordan, Hannibal Marvin Peterson, Mark Murphy, Howard Johnson, Lou Tabakin, Clark Terry, Nuguyen Le, Ron McClure, Bobby Shew, Pete Yellin, Vincent Herring, Bobby Watson, Jim Pepper, The New York Voices, Take Six, Wolfgang Muthspiel, Don Menza, Patti Austin,Theo Blackman, Kurt Elling, John Hendricks, Bennie Mauphin, Benny Bailey, Jimmy Cobb, Johnny Griffin, Benny Golson

A brillanti accompanist and inspired improviser, Hans Strasser has always been a first choice in the Jazz circles, collaborating with all music line ups, from duo to big band, covering a variety of styles. He’s been the bass player of Fritz Pauer trio from 1990 until 2011, and performed in many of Pauer’s projects, featuring jazz greats such as Benny Golson, Art Farmer, Johnny Griffin, Sheila Jordan, Pee Wee Ellis. He’s been touring and recording with the Vienna Art Orchestra, and with Lia Pale, and had the privilege to share the stage with amazing musicians such as Harold Mabern, Eric Alexander, Bobby Shew, Lew Tabakin, Gene Harris, Chet Baker, Karl Ratzer, David Murray, John Colliani and Jesse Davis -to name a few.

The versatility and musicality of Dusan Novakov’s provides a perfect support both to the rhythm section and to the soloists. He’s bee performing with Mark Murphy, Oliver Lake, George Cables, John Marshall, Dick Oatts, Kirk Lightsey, Michelle Hendricks, Toninho Horta, Valery Ponomarev, Andy Bey, Karl Ratzer, Fritz Pauer, Frank Lacy, Gregory Porter.
